Healthy Living 7/8 students took a field trip to Sprouts Food Store. They compared the labels of organic to non-organic foods. They also received organic apples to eat! Thanks Sprouts!

Christmas Angel Tree
My 6th grade homeroom did a phenomenal job bringing in gifts for our Angel Tree recipients. They also earned and donated $75 with which we purchased 6 chickens for World Vision which helps underdeveloped countries.

3rd grade Japan
3rd grade students are studying Japan and learned about pagodas. The students drew and painted their own pagoda.
Kid's World 2014
The kaleidoscope classes attended Kid's World - a multicultural event at the Tulsa Fairgrounds. This event allows the children to have hands on exposure to different cultures from around the world. Some of the favorites were Israel, Russia, Native America, and Holland.

Jog-a-thon Awards

Rock Cycle with Starburst
We recreated the rock cycle by first creating a sedimentary rock. We stacked 3 different Starburst candies on top of each other (deposition) and stepped on them (compaction).
We heated up the candies to make an igneous rock. We then added more heat and pressure to make a metamorphic rock

Nourish Drink Cafe
Nourish Drink Cafe (1717 E. 17th St. Tulsa) came to our Healthy Living class and discussed eating healthy and how it benefits the body. Students sampled smoothie blends made from spinach, kale, bananas, peaches, pineapple, strawberries, and coconut water.
